Born in Hamburg /Germany, I decided in the age of 15 to become a goldsmith. After my education, design studies in Hildesheim and foreign experience, I decided Wuppertal to be my living spot.
Wuppertal is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, in and around the Wupper valley, east of Düsseldorf and south of the Ruhr. With a population of approximately 350.000, it is the largest city in the Bergisch Land. Wuppertal is known for its steep slopes, its woods and parks, and its suspension railway, the Wuppertal Schwebebahn and it is also known for the lively art scene.
The workbench for my jewelry and for many ideas lies in an urban residential area, with small shops, pubs and galleries. The neighborhood is familiar, inspiring and multi-cultural. This is my favorite place. Here in the small, in the peace grows my work. The goldsmith work is my language. With my art I give my world a shape, so everything holds together. As a freelance designer I create individual pieces and small series.
I love to work with silver. This is my favorite material, because of the colour, the texture and the
workability. To forge silver and change its form, is such a special experience. Making jewelry always means experimenting. My design must be functional, with simple principles and clear shape.
Often the design develops and is modified by working with the material. I like the idea of creating a piece of consistency and I like the idea of manufacturing objects which are sustainable.
Again and again it touches me, makes me curious, opens new views and delights me quite unexpectedly. Birthday candle holders are small, elegant and designed for the special
